75 Year Old Home with Extreme Wall Failure in Oregan

Nicole and Gabae recently bought a 75-year-old dairy barn that had been converted into a home. Unfortunately, this home had a bowing wall and a few water issues, common issues found in older homes. With plans to stay for the long-term, they knew they had to get it fixed sooner rather than later.

They had contacted another company, but their solution was invasive and involved removing the front porch altogether. Then they called Thrasher. We sent out System Design Specialist Eric Wulf to take a look at the problem.

Eric found that the wall was pushed inward 5 1/8 inches, the door above the area was sticking, and muddy water was entering the basement. He concluded that this was due to water weight, expanding soil, and the freeze/thaw cycle that caused the top of that foundation wall to move inward over a period of time.

Eric decided the best course of action was to use our EverBrace Wall Restoration System. EverBrace is used for extreme wall failure. It's less disruptive than total foundation replacement, but still just as effective. It uses steel corrugated panels and beams to strengthen and stabilize foundation walls.

Our install team then got on-site and started to get to work. They installed galvanized steel panels with structural I-beams bracing them. They then sprayed structural foam between the steel panels and the original foundation wall to fill any voids between the new wall and the original wall.

Nicole and Gabae were so happy with the results and so happy they didn't have to compromise their front porch for a fixed foundation.

Concrete Repair in Indianola, IA.

On the front steps of this home, there was a gap in the concrete. This was allowing for waster to get under the stoop and cause settlement. This affected the stoop even more as well as the nearby sidewalk. They needed these fixed to prevent tripping hazards.

After inspecting the concrete issue, we applied Polylevel and Nexuspro to level out the tripping hazards and seal the gaps. The customer was so excited to have it fixed.

Pipes Burst in Norfolk, NE

Homeowner Jill bought her home in the fall. And in the winter, her pipes froze and burst. This is her forever home so she knew she had to do something. She remembered her brother recently used Thrasher to waterproof his home, so she decided to give us a call, too. Once we sent our System Design Specialist, Jesse White, out to her home, we were able to identify the problem. Upon inspection, we found her crawlspace was uninsulated and not encapsulated.

Jesse came up with a plan and sent our install team out to work their magic. We ended up encapsulating and insulating to keep the interior of the crawl space clean and dry. On top of that, we also installed a SaniDry Dehumidifier to help keep the space dry.

Now Jill can rest knowing her home is protected and her pipes are prepared for the following winter.

Wet Basement in Earlham, IA

Homeowners Cheri and Doug kept getting water in their basement. They called Thrasher Foundation Repair, worried that the water would start creeping into other parts of their home. Doug was a little skeptical, but once we sent System Design Specialist, Kevin French, to their home to look at the basement and then explained exactly how we do things and why we do it, his mind was at ease.

Kevin found a small portion of a wall in the cellar of their basement leaking badly. After developing a plan, he sent the install team out to work their magic. We ended up installing WaterGuard on the wall that was leaking. WaterGuard is a drainage system designed to capture water seepage through walls. It's nearly invisible and essentially makes sure that water never reaches your basement floor. In addition, we ran a lateral line from the WaterGuard to the sump pump for proper drainage.

Cheri and Doug now have a water-free basement! They were so happy they chose Thrasher Foundation Repair to give them an in-depth inspection and solve their problem at the same time.

Concrete Repair in Abilene, KS

Roger and Peggy just bought their home and have a family member in a wheelchair. So it's important to them to have a smooth and level walkway so their family can easily move around with no safety hazards. They had heard about our reputation and how knowledgeable we are in our craft, so they gave us a call. Jon Graves, one of our System Design Specialists, went out to their home to assess the situation. He found they had a walk down about 2 inches and a back pad that was sinking too. The rest of the concrete wasn't looking so hot, either. It seemed to be on the verge of sinking and would greatly benefit from protection, as well.

After inspection, Jon laid out a plan and got our install team to work. They lifted, leveled, and sealed all areas that had sunk. And then they also lifted and leveled all other concrete to help protect it. Next, they used CompressionGuard to help protect from street creep.

Roger and Peggy were so happy to find a company that explained everything so clearly and helped them understand how and why we do what we do. They were so excited to get their concrete leveled so they no longer have to worry.
