This homeowner was used to hosting family and parties in her basement. The upstairs is too small, but the basement was becoming a problem. She was finding water, cobwebs, and bugs in the corners of her basement. She wanted to fix it back up to host her family over. She heard Thrasher was the best, so she gave us a call. Neil Kwiatkowski, System Design Specialist, came out to meet her. Together they decided to install CleanSpace, a waterproof tarp that collects water and acts as a barrier, WaterGuard, our draining channel, as well as a Triple Safe Sump Pump and dehumidifier. This would help collect the water that was coming in and discharge it outside the home at a safe distance. Check out the process in the photos attached!
Unfinished Pre-WaterProofed Basement
There are water stains at the bottom of the wall, where it meets the floor. This can cause mold to grow, and invites bugs and creatures to live here.
Water Stained Basement
Water can enter through the cold joint and come through where the wall and floor meet, creating water stains if not properly treated.
Pre-Install for WaterProofing
Due to the high humidity, this homeowner was experiencing water getting in, lots of cobwebs, and bugs. We have a waterproofing system that can help all of these issues!
CleanSpace, WaterGuard, and Dehumidifier Installed
On the wall is our CleanSpace. It looks like a white tarp, but it is waterproof. Any water that comes in from the cracks, trickles down and into the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard is installed under the floor (see where the dark grey is). Is a draining channel that collects the water from the CleanSpace, and from the cold joints at the base of the foundation. It then flows to the sump pump and out of the home. The dehumidifier is the black box, this helps keeps moisture levels down and prevents mold growth.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
When water collects from the Cleanspace and flows into the WaterGuard, it will flow into the sump pump. The sump pump the kidney bean shape in the floor. The PVC piping will then discharge the water at a safe distance from the home. The red hockey puck shape at the top of the sump pump is our WaterWatch alarm, this will alert you if the water lines are getting too high.
