These homeowners had some very cracked and settled concrete happening on the walkway up to their door. This was a tripping hazard and were worried someone was going to trip. They called Thrasher because they knew of our reputation and returned his calls quickly. System Design Specialist, Matt Turner, came out to meet them. After the free inspection, Matt found the dirt under the concrete was washing away. This can happen from the unsealed joints in the concrete. Overtime, water can get under the concrete and wash the dirt away, leaving voids that can not support the weight of the concrete. This can cause the concrete to shift and crack. Matt proposed we install our Concrete Protection System, including Polylevel to lift and level and NexusPro to seal the cracks and joint. The homeowner liked this idea and we sent out our installation team! Check out our before and after photos for this project attached!
Sinking Sidewalk
This homeowner was having sinking concrete due to washout under the slabs. When the joint seals are broken or nonexistent, it can cause water to get under and create voids.
Old Joint Sealing
This is another example of how water can get under your concrete slabs. When the caulking breaks down, it causes gaps where water can intrude. When voids are created under the slabs, there is little to no support to hold the concrete in place.
Unsealed Joints
When the water gets under the slabs from the unseal joints, it causes voids and leaves little to no support for the concrete to lay. This is how cracking can start to form over time.
Sinking Concrete and Unsealed Joints
You can see all of the joints between the concrete are starting to peal away, or have no caulking. We can use our NexusPro to fill in those gaps to prevent water to get under and washout the dirt.
Polylevel and NexusPro Installed on a Walkway
CPS is our Concrete Protection System. This includes PolyLevel Foam and NexusPro Caulking. PolyLevel is used by drilling dime sized holes in the concrete. We inject the foam under the concrete and it starts to expand. This foam is very sturdy and will not move around after it hardens. The holes are then filled in. NexusPro is then used on the joints and cracks to prevent any more water from getting the concrete.
NexusPro Install
After using our PolyLevel to lift and level, NexusPro can be used to seal the joints and cracks. This is a waterproof caulk sealant that prevents water from washing out anymore dirt.
CPS Installed
CPS is our "Concrete Protection System." We used our Polylevel foam to lift and level the concrete back into place and NexusPro to seal the cracks and joints. There is no doubt water will not be finding its way back under these slabs!
Polylevel and NexusPro Installed
To lift the walkway back into place, we use our PolyLevel, It is injected under the sidewalk to expand and lift the concrete back into place. NexusPro is caulking that fills in the joints and cracks!
