Photo Album: Basement Waterproofing in Shawnee, KS
This homeowner just moved down from Wisconsin to Kansas. He has a job that requires travel, and when he was home for a few days he saw there was water coming in his basement. Him and his dad decided to take off a couple feet of drywall to pin point where the water was coming in. What they found was water all along the wall. They called Thrasher and System Design Specialist, Tom Studer, came out to meet them. Tom found the water concentration in the ground outside of the footing were high. Tom determined the water was coming through the cold joints of the wall and any cracks around the surrounding footings. Tom proposed our waterproofing system, including WaterGuard and CleanSpace. The homeowners liked this plan, and we sent out our installation team to get started! See the photos attached for the process of keeping water out!
Water Intrusion Through Cold Joints
This was part of the homeowners concern. There was water all along the wall under the drywall they had taken out. There was some cracking, along with high water concentration outside of the home, causing water to leak through.
Water Intrusion Through Walls
At the joints of the walls and floors, there was more water intrusion. This is caused by the high water concentration in the ground coming through the cold joints.
CleanSpace and Water Guard Installed
You can see the white tarp on the wall, this is our CleanSpace. It is collecting any water that is coming through cracks in the walls behind the drywall and sending down to our WaterGuard. Under the thin gray line is our drainage system, WaterGuard. The water is send from CleanSpace into the WaterGuard and sent to the sump pump. Water can also enter the WaterGuard if it comes through the cold joints.

TripleSafe Sump Pump Installed
The kidney bean shape on the floor is one of our sump pumps. It is installed below the floor, so the WaterGuard can filter water into it and out of the home. There is a WaterWatch alarm on the top, the red hockey puck shape, that will alert you if the water level gets too high, along without back up battery incase of emergencies.
LawnScape Basin Installed
The green basin here is our LawnScape basin. This is where the water from the sump pump will be discharged, at a safe distance away from the home!
