Photo Album: Basement Foundation Repair in Greenfield, IA

These homeowners were worried about the addition on their home being stable given the damage in the garage. They could see daylight through the mortar joint in the blocks and knew they needed someone out. System Design Specialist, Kevin French, came out to meet with them. Kevin found the wall in the garage had been mostly removed and a beam was put in place to support the weight of the addition. The concrete block was not structural enough to support the weight, so the wall  was beginning to move and become unstable. To help combat this issue, we installed a structural basement jack at the corner to support the beam. We then installed PowerBraces around the perimeter of the garage addition so that those walls would be stabilized and not move. Check out this photo gallery of the process of stabilizing the walls!

Band-Aid Supporting Beam

You can see the supporting beam the homeowners were temporarily using here. This type of beam was not made to hold the amount of weight it is under, causing the walls to move and shift.
