Photo Album: Wall Failure in Anthon, IA
This homeowner was looking to tear apart the basement because he wanted to remodel and make some nice addition. He was unaware the wall was failing until he starting moving around things in the basement. He knew needed someone that could do quality work and ensure they can finish their basement safely and confidently. He gave Thrasher a call, and System Design Specialist, Corey Little came out to meet him. Corey saw the walls were starting to fail and he determined it was due to expansive clay soil and hydrostatic pressure from the water building up. Corey proposed we use our Everbrace system. Everbrace is used for walls with extreme movement. We use beams and steel paneling that has foam pumped in between the failing wall and the wall we created to transfer the weight off the failing wall. He also proposed using a mixture of Powerbraces for one side of the house and GeoLock Wall Anchors for the other. Along with that, proposed a Waterguard system behind the Everbrace wall with a sump pump, that way if that wall starts to leak, it would not be a problem and it will stay dry. The customer was so happy they would not have to move out of the home for an extreme wall repair, so we sent out the installation team. They were happy and will have peace of mind with a company that stands behind a 25 year warranty. Check out the photos attached to see the process!
