Photo Album: Porch Tripping Hazard in Wichita, KS

These homeowners were constantly tripping up the stairs to their front door any time they would enter their home. They were concerned that visiting friends and family would have this same problem, so they decided it was time to do something to fix it. After they called us, System Design Specialist Beau Morris arrived at their home to inspect the front porch and come up with a comprehensive solution to solve all of the concrete related issues. Beau noticed that there were voids underneath the porch which caused settlement, thus creating the tripping hazard. He also found voids underneath the driveway that were just beginning to form, so Beau suggested the the homeowners utilize our 2-Part Concrete Protection System. The homeowners liked this plan, and so we sent an installation team out to utilize this system. Check out the transformation process attached!
Tripping Hazard Steps

Tripping Hazard Steps

The front steps were the initial reason that he homeowners were concerned. They were settling and causing cracking in the concrete surrounding them. This cracking and settlement is what lead to the tripping hazard.

Cracked Concrete Driveway

The driveway was not the primary concern of the homeowners, however when they discovered the same cause of the tripping hazard, voids under the concrete, was happening under their driveway, they wanted to prevent the problem from happening. The driveway showed early signs of a tripping hazard with the cracks starting to form around the concrete joints.

Lifted, Leveled, and Sealed Steps

One of our installation teams utilized PolyLevel foam and NexusPro sealant on the front steps to lift, level, and seal the concrete in order to eliminate the tripping hazard.

The driveway was lifted slightly to fill the small voids beginning to form using PolyLevel foam. After that, our installation team used NexusPro sealant to seal all the joints and cracks in the concrete, giving it the finished look.
