Photo Album: Cellar Water Problems Solved in Lesterville, MO

These longtime homeowners were struggling with water getting into their cellar for several years. This problem was getting worse and the homeowners no longer wanted to worry about it, so after looking into our years of expertise in waterproofing solutions, they gave us a call to fix their cellar water problems. We had System Design Specialist Nick Tiberghien look for the possible solutions to the cellar water problem, and discuss them with the homeowners. Nick suggested they waterproof the interior of the cellar to prevent water from pooling, and the homeowners loved this idea. Our team utilized the WaterGuard Drainage System, CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, a Lateral Line, and a Sump Pump to waterproof the inside of the cellar. Water Flow Creates a Muddy Cellar

Before any work was done, the cellar had no drainage systems in place. Water could only enter and exit via the stairs, so this meant that water could travel down the stairs, but it could not go back up the stairs. The water that pooled in the stairs caused mud to form and made the cellar very difficult to use.

Water Intrusion through Wall and Floor Cracks

The cellar of this home had many cracks in the walls and the flooring which allowed water to seep through into the cellar. This water pooled at the footing of the cellar and caused mold and water damage to form.

CleanSpace and WaterGuard Installed

WaterGuard Drainage System and CleanSpace Vapor Barrier were both installed to help redirect water coming in through the cracks in the walls to the sump pump so that they can be pumped out of the cellar. The CleanSpace Vapor Barrier will also help to prevent mold or water damage from growing on the walls because it helps to reduce the humidity and moisture levels in the cellar.

Sump Pump and Lateral Line Installed

In order to keep water from pooling in the cellar, a sump pump was installed along with a buried discharge pipe to pump water out of the cellar. A Lateral Line was installed and concrete was poured on top of it to bury it in order to help the drainage of water seeping through the floors.
